Choosing a primary school

Choosing your childs first school is a very important job.   It is important to look carefully at all the local schools and find out as much information as you can.  You may want to consider:

  • School ethos - does it match with the values and beliefs of your familiy?
  • Academic achievements - do children do well at school?
  • School activities - what extra curricular activities does the school offer?
  • Ofsted reports / SIAMS report - what do inspectors say about the school?

Talking to other parents and pupils who attend a school can be very valuable.
